Take the nature trail over the Soumarský Most lookout point, which offers a glimpse into the world of the Šumava peat bogs. It presents the development and current state of the peat bog, which was recently used for industrial mining, and which is being restored or revitalised with the help of man, thus restoring its original character and function in nature. The 7 m high observation tower is accessible from June to October.
The trail starts at the Soumarský Bridge, which is located half a kilometre from the main road Volary - Lenora and is known especially to boaters crossing the Vltava River. You can get here from Volary on the road No. 39 to Lenora.
A surface path will serve you on your way through the peat bog, but part of the route continues on soft peat subsoil. The trail leads from the boating camp to the Haidfilz peat bog and then takes you to the functioning of the water hammer, sawmill, hydroelectric power station or the closed train station to the two-storey observation tower.
The wooden lookout tower stands on the highest point of the peat bog, from where you can see Stožec, the Boubíň ridge or the Želnavská hills.
